Daniela Godoy

Brief biography

Senior Food and Nutrition Security Policy Officer at the FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean. She holds a law degree from Diego Portales University (Chile), a Master's degree in Public Health from New York University (United States), and a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Chile.

She has 17 years of experience in the design of food and nutrition security plans and policies, such as the CELAC Food Security, Nutrition, and Hunger Eradication Plan and Front-of-Pack Nutrition Labeling in Latin America. She was Head of the Public Policy Division of the Chilean Ministry of Health, where she led the design and implementation of food and nutrition laws and policies, as well as food safety regulations.

She also served as Executive Secretary of the Elige Vivir Sano Intersectoral System at the Chilean Ministry of Social Development and Family, where her responsibilities included coordinating food and nutrition security governance and directing policies, plans, and programs to achieve food security and reduce malnutrition. She has experience at the Socioeconomic Evaluation of Dietary Decisions Laboratory at New York University, Universidad Mayor, and UNICEF, conducting data analysis and research on food policies in Chile, Guatemala, Haiti, Bolivia, Ghana, and the United States of America.
